PUBG or PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds has become a phenomenon, and people all over are getting into it. Even though the PC version of the game came first, the Xbox and the mobile versions that followed have managed to gain much more popularity. PUBG is all about guns and using them properly.
And since knowing the game goes a long way in winning it, players can always get better results when they know which guns to use and which best suits their style of play. PUBG has Pistols, Shotguns, Submachine Guns, Assault Rifles, Designated Marksmen Rifles, and bolt action Sniper Rifles classified into different classes. We take a closer look at the different Shotguns in the game, and the specialties of each of these. Shotguns come with options to mod that include magazine mods, bullet loops, muzzle mods and scopes and sights.
We will be ranking the Shotguns based on three variables, which are damage, rate of fire, and reload time in the ascending order.
Sawed-off

The Sawed-off is the latest addition to the Shotgun team of PUBG and is carried around in the Pistol slot which gives its an advantage over the regular shotguns which need a whole gun slot. It has the least damage among all the shotguns at 20. It also has the least range which makes it effective only in the early game and it becomes difficult to kill people with in the later stages of the game. It can only be loaded up with two 12 Gauge cartridges and has a very high reload time. Though it can unload those two cartridges in quick succession.
S1897

The S1897 is the standard pump action shotgun of PUBG. This Shotgun can be loaded up with five 12 Gauge cartridges. The pump action means that it comes with the lowest rate of fire among all the shotguns. But its does make up for that in terms of having the most damage among Shotguns alongside the S686 at 24. It has more range than the S12K but less than the S686. This shotgun has a high reload time as well, but the good thing is that it can be fired even before all five cartridges are in the chamber.
S686

The S686 is also known as the dual barreled shotgun in PUBG which means it is similar to the Sawed-off. The S686 has the highest range among all the Shotguns and is tied for the most damage at 24 with the S1897. But it is ranked higher than the S1897 because it can fire off two shots almost immediately. Though it is followed by a slightly high reload time and cant be fired unless both the 12 Gauge cartridges are loaded into the chambers.
S12K

The S12K is the only Shotgun that is classified as a AR, because it has an auto firing more and comes with a magazine. The S12K has a damage of 22 and its range is less than that of the S1897 and the S686. But it can be outfitted with AR mods that include a magazine mod that increased the capacity from five 12 Gauge cartridges to eight, a muzzle mod, and scopes and sights. It has a very fast rate of fire being an AR and can be deadly in close combat. It’s reload time is very low which can be even lowered with a quickdraw mag.

We may have ranked the guns according to what we think the variables said, but all said and done, it is up to the user to best use them. It does not necessarily mean that having a better gun will win the game, but using it properly will. And always use guns that suit your play style and not what rankings say.
