Google has released Android’s November security patch for the Google Pixel/Nexus devices and Essential Phone. The list includes Pixel 3, Pixel 3 XL, Pixel 2, Pixel 2 XL, Pixel C, Nexus 5X and Nexus 6P. Google has noted that the patch fixes for 17 security vulnerabilities.
The November security for Google Pixel 3, 3 XL based on Android 9 Pie is third update by Google since its August release. It fixes the wireless charging issue in Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL along with normal bug fixing like picture-in-picture mode, notifications issue and more. The patch includes few critical and high vulnerabilities, although Google notes that there are no reports of users being affected by these issues.
For the Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL, the November security patch also introduces Google Assistant shortcut. Users will be able to squeeze Active Edge to trigger Assistant on Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL. For the Google Nexus 5X, Nexus 6P, and Pixel C tablet, this might be the last security update as these are nearing end of whole lifecycle support from company.
Google has published Android factory images and OTA files of the November security patch on its developers’ website. As of now, the update for the first generation Pixel and Pixel XL is missing. Google might update those devices soon too.

Meanwhile, the Essential Phone users can also check for OTA notification of November security patch. The company informed about the update on Twitter. It brings support for the Essential Phone’s Audio Adapter HD module along with bug fixing.
