Google’s latest flagship Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL have had a long list of bugs since their launch. One such issue is the memory management causing unexpected app crashes, which now Google has confirmed is aware of and has plans to fix “in the coming weeks.”
Google, in a statement to 9to5google and Android Police, said that a fix will arrive “in the coming weeks” to “keep background apps from being prematurely closed”. This particular RAM issue essentially causes app crashes when users combine actions from multiple apps.
We have seen many users reporting about camera app crashing on the Google Pixel 3, and in particular Spotify music app unexpectedly stops working when they take pictures from the camera app simultaneously.
The issue has nothing to do with Pixel 3’s 4GB RAM, it is essentially poor RAM management by Google which can be fixed over a software update. The company has already started shipping November security patch, so it is possible that Google might ship RAM management fix in December.

Google’s Pixel 3 series is pioneer in camera smartphone category. But due to software bug, both phones have reportedly failed to save the photos sometimes. A lot of users have complained about the same on Reddit, which also means that it is not an isolated issue. Some users did note that the problem could be caused by the Doze battery saving feature, and disabling it worked to fix the problem for some users. Google has been made aware of the issue through Google Product Forums.
