PUBG or PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds from Bluehole is one of the most popular games in the world right now, and its presence on PC, Xbox and the mobile platform has proliferated its player base. PUBG was first launched with the Erangel map, which was the only map for almost a year before a new one was introduced. Erangel is still the official map for the tournaments even though it’s been a while since the release of Miramar.
But today we will be talking about the second map to hit the PUBG servers which is a Central or South America based map, Miramar. Miramar is a city centric map that is set on desert terrain and rural areas which is available on PUBG PC, Xbox and PUBG Mobile. This was was in development in 2017 and was released with the 1.0 version of PC on December 12 after three rounds of testing. Miramar has large open terrain with sparse vegetation. The map has three distinct islands on the eastern and the southern side. The whole map is filled with enormous canyons and mountains. On the north end of the map there is a huge metal wall that prevents players from straying.
There are different weather available for the map which include fog, rain and clear. The time of day available for this map also have options which include sunrise, sunset and midday. This map is 8×8 km in size which is the same as the Erangel map. Here are some tips to remember to have an easier time winning on Miramar.
Choosing the drop location
With the importance highlighted of choosing the ideal drop location already outlined in the previous story about winning on the Erangel map, we say the same thing for the Miramar map. Again, playing style varies from player-to-player, but it is generally understood that a drop location with relatively less enemies is always a good idea. The usual hot zones of the Miramar map are San Martin, Los Leones, Pecado and Hacienda del Patron. Most of these locations are relatively centrally positioned and have lot of loot available which makes them easy target.
Hence choosing a further place to drop from the path of the aircraft will help you get a decent loot before having to fight other players. Chumacera, El Pozo, La Cobreria, El Azahar, Impala and Water Treatment are decent places to land in order to get a decent loot while avoiding the hoards.
Making sure there are vehicles around
Miramar like Erangel is a very large map, which means mode of transportation becomes important if you landed on one corner of the map and the circle happens to be on the other side of the map. Though vehicles are available in and around most of the prominent places on the map, it’s the villages and smaller interspersed places that lack vehicles. Miramar has a lot of ups and down which makes it harder to reach the circle on foot.
The importance of scopes
Miramar is not like Erangel which provides a lot of tree cover on most of the areas of the map. Miramar has few places to seek cover outside the cities and the desert terrain makes players easily visible from a distance. Hence those players that have scopes will always have an advantage over the players that don’t. Hence the need of a scope which is at least a 4x is very important to get an advantage or even leveling the playing field.
Using terrain to your advantage
Miramar is a map that has desert terrain which provides little cover out in the open spaces between the cities. The map also come with a lot of canyons and mountains, and hence as a rule of thumb anyone who has higher ground on this map has a big advantage over others. A player or their team perched on top of a cliff will have an easy time picking off players running about below. But remember while being on higher ground is an advantage, making sure that you have cover on the high ground is even more important. Otherwise a player on a high ground without cover is just invitation for others to take a shot at a player on a pedestal.

Avoid proning on Miramar
Miramar like we mentioned a very open map which provides open vision over most areas. And hence it is not a good idea to go prone out in the open on this map. The only exception is the small grassy area on the southern side of the map. But even here its a risk since there are a lot of high places from enemies to spot you here. Unless behind cover in buildings or rocks, players should avoid proning on Miramar.
