PUBG PS4 launch: Microsoft will be countering the launch with a slew of free games

PUBG has officially announced that the game will be hitting Sony’s PlayStation 4 console on December 7 and will bring with it quite a few exclusive items. And as if not to be out done on this holiday season Microsoft has announced that it will make PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds along with 15 other top tier games free on its flagship Xbox One platform. PUBG has been a big hit for PC as well as the mobile platforms, but the Xbox segment is doing well too and has garnered a lot of the attention. PUBG  has already been made available for the Xbox Game Pass owners from December 12.

Microsoft launched PUBG has a console exclusive Xbox Early Access in December 2017 and it was recently launched officially for all the players. And with the news of PUBG coming to Sony PlayStation soon, Microsoft thought it would up the ante by making the game free for its users. Unlike its competition FortnitePUBG is not yet available on all the popular gaming platforms. PUBG is available on PC, Xbox One, Android and iOS, while Fortnite is available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, Nintendo Switch, Android and iOS. Fortnite is free on all the platforms while PUBG isn’t.

Microsoft will be making PUBG free but players need an Xbox Live Gold subscription which costs Rs 726 per month and Rs 4,360 for a year. Pro Evolution Soccer 2019, Ori and the Blind Forest, Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice, and other games like the Ori sequel, and Void Bastards, among other games is going to be added to the Xbox Game Pass.

Microsoft has shown that it is inclined to maximize on gaming this year and hence we can expect some more such deals from the company.
