Xiaomi Mi 5, Mi 4, Redmi Note 3 Pro and others will no longer get MIUI updates

Xiaomi has been one of those companies that roll out updates in a very regular fashion. And maintaining its reputation by releasing the MIUI 10 update in two batches which includes phones like Redmi 5 and Redmi 5A. But in a surprise announcement now, Xiaomi has said that it will no longer be rolling out the MIUI 10 update for certain phones in China. This was announced in a forum post in the MIUI China website by the devs themselves.

The devices from China that will no longer be receiving the updates are Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 Pro, Redmi Note 3, Mi 5, Mi 4, Mi 4C, and Mi 4S. This has come as a surprise for most people since Xiaomi didn’t state a reason for the present act and the company is known to update phones as old as five years. Though this isn’t the first time the company decided to pull out updates while they were rolling out. Last year the company did something similar and stopped updates for some of the smartphones that were all set to receive the update.

The Xiaomi Mi 5 and Note 3 Pro will be receiving MIUI 10.2 as the stable version which both Redmi 6 Pro and Note 4 Pro received. While Xiaomi Mi 4, Mi 4S, and Mi 4C will be receiving MIUI 10.1 as the stable update.
