PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds (PUBG) players on PC were set to get a newly added Platoon Event Mode on Steam this weekend. However, due to a ‘critical error’ the developers have cancelled the event altogether. The team behind PUBG took it to Steam blog and Twitter to deliver the bad news.
“Unfortunately, the Event Mode this week has been cancelled due to a critical error. We apologize for any frustration or disappointment this has caused. Event Mode: Platoon will not be returning next week, but will return at a later date,” the game developers said.

The Platoon Mode would allow players to join one of five 10-person squads, and thus make a Platoon. Similar to the normal game, the objective remains the same. However, on a massive 50 vs 50 scale. The way to win is to loot up and coordinate to be the last Platoon standing.
If something like this happens with Fortnite, the developers simply replace it with a different mode. However, the PUBG crew seems to be focusing on fixing the issue so that it can be good to go soon.
PUBG Mobile’s upcoming version 0.9.0 is all set to bring Night Mode and Halloween decorations among other things. While nothing much is known about the upcoming event, the developers have released a short clip giving a glimpse at what to expect. Based on the clip, the company seems all set to introduce creepy clothing options to go with the Halloween theme, with options such as nurses, clowns, and more to choose from.
