Disney teams up with WhatsApp to launch Ralph Breaks the Internet Sticker pack

Disney, the American mass media and entertainment company has teamed up with multi-media messaging app WhatsApp to launch a new sticker pack. This new sticker pack is based on the latest animated movie, Ralph Breaks the Internet that launched in the cinema halls in the United States on November 21st. The film launched in India on November 23rd and has garnered positive reviews from the critics and moviegoers on the Internet and BookMyShow. The sticker pack is likely to attract attention towards the movie and to keep the fans of the movie engaged even after the movie leaves the movie halls.

The sticker pack is currently available on Google Play Store and can be installed by users. The sticker pack includes stickers for all the major characters including Ralph, Vanellop, and the Disney princesses. The pack has a total of 30 stickers that, according to the description of the app, are “based on iconic moments from the film”. The sticker pack is available both on iOS as well as Android and the company has launched a separate sticker pack for iMessage on iOS. One thing to note here is that the sticker pack is paid and users need to pay Rs 170 on Google Play Store and $1.99 on Apple App Store.

In addition to the sticker pack for different platforms, the company has also launched a dedicated WhatsApp business account for the movie where fans can cat with Ralph and Vanellope. These characters will teach users to use “TextSpeak” along with emoji, sending photos and more.

The sticker packs and the business account was initially reported by AdWeek. Considering the popularity of WhatsApp and the traction that its new stickers features have gained, it will not be surprising if more media companies go the sticker pack route to create hype about their movies, tv shows or even web series.
