Facebook Watch, the video platform from the social media giant, has failed to catch attention of its users with its content but it is not giving up anytime soon. The social media platform is now reviving the life of Facebook Watch by launching it for all users. It is also enabling a new co-viewing feature where users can see and comment on the same video at the same time.
According to TechCrunch, Facebook Watch is rolling out to all profiles and pages around the world. Earlier, Facebook Watch Party was limited to Groups and has been in testing with other types of accounts. Facebook wants to use its biggest power, the billions of social users, to make it more popular. Now, any profile or business can post a Watch Party invite to sync up with other users and simultaneously view videos they have discovered on the platform.
When compared to other video platforms like YouTube, Netflix and Snapchat, Facebook Watch Party falls behind in terms of content lineup. CNBC reported that Facebook is giving up on younger audience and pivoting to an older audience for the platform. With shared experience, Facebook believes that users will consume more videos on the platform than before.
In order to make Watch Party popular, Facebook is also testing new options including allowing Pages and Groups to schedule a Watch Party. The Watch Parties with lots of viewers will be able to have their comments threaded. One key feature coming to Watch Party is that hosts can go live picture-in-picture and comment in real time.

Facebook is also testing a co-viewing feature inside Messenger now. This feature is being from Watch Party and could drive users towards its video viewing platform. The report says that 12 million started Watch Party from Groups but 2.2 billion active user base makes that number look tiny in comparison.
