Honor 8C with Snapdragon 632 and Honor Band 4 launched in India: Price, specifications and availability

Huawei’s e-brand Honor has launched two new products in India – the Honor 8C and Honor Band 4. The smartphone was launched in China last month, and it is now being launched in India as well. One of the interesting elements about the Honor 8C is the first device powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 632 chipset.

Honor and Huawei tend to use their own chipset called Kirin on their smartphones but with Honor 8C, the company is partnering with Qualcomm for the chipset. Honor 8C comes on the heels of the launch of Honor 8X, and is aimed to make the company a strong brand in the Indian smartphone market. The company emerged as the fifth-largest smartphone brand in India for a brief period. According to Counterpoint Research, it is the fastest growing smartphone brand in the country.

Honor 8C launched in India: Specifications and Price

Honor 8C is the newest addition to the sub-Rs 15,000 smartphone segment in India, which is the most sought after price segment in the country. The Chinese smartphone maker is targeting models like the Realme U1 and Xiaomi’s Redmi Note 6 Pro with this device.

In terms of specifications, the Honor 8C features a 6.26-inch HD+ display, and is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 632 SoC. It comes with 4GB of RAM and option for 32GB or 64GB storage.

Honor is known for building decent camera even on its budget devices and with Honor 8C, the company is offering improved camera setup. The smartphone is equipped with dual 13-megapixel + 2-megapixel rear cameras, where the main camera uses a sensor with wider f/1.8 aperture. There is an 8-megapixel selfie camera at the front and is coupled with features like beautification mode and augmented reality functions.

It sports a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor, runs EMUI 8.2 based on Android 8.1 Oreo and is backed by a 4,000mAh battery. The Honor 8C is priced at Rs 11,999 for the 32GB storage variant while the 64GB version is priced at Rs 12,999. It will be available in three colors: midnight black, aurora blue and platinum gold. It goes on sale on December 10 exclusively from Amazon India, and Honor’s online store.

Honor Band 4 launched in India: Specifications and Price

Honor Band 4 is the wearable that Honor believes can challenge the Mi Band 3 from Xiaomi. It sports a 0.95-inch AMOLED panel with 2.5D curved glass on top of it and is the first wearable from the company to feature a color display. Honor claims the Honor Band 4 can last up to 6 days on a single charge. It is also water resistant and supports Bluetooth v4.2 and NFC for connectivity.

It tracks steps and swim strokes, monitors sleep and has both an infrared sensor as well as a PPG heart rate sensor. The company did not share the price of Honor Band 4 today but we expect it to be priced around Rs 2,000 in order to compete with the the Mi Band 3 in India.
