Huawei is rolling out EMUI 8.0.0.131 with November security patch of Honor 9N

Chinese smartphone and electronics maker Huawei has just rolled out a new update for its Honor 9N. Though, this new update is not the highly anticipated EMUI 9.0, the latest version of the Android-based skinned operating system by Huawei, EMUI. This new version of the update does not come with any new feature additions. Instead, it adds the November Android security patch to the device while bringing the version number of the operating system to LLD-AL20 8.0.0.131(C675).

For people who may not be following Android updates in recent months, Google has made it mandatory for Android device makers to provide monthly Android security updates to their devices for up to 2 years. Taking a closer look at the update, the total size of the update is about 112MB. The OTA (Over the Air) update prompt is likely to appear on your device but in case it has not appeared it is likely that it will soon reach your device. Just in case, you can head to the system update in the settings app to manually check for the update.

The information about this update was initially reported by The Android Soul. The report also noted that this update comes after the company announced a new update with November security patch for Honor 8 Pro devices.

However, as the report noted, this update is not the most anticipated update that most users have been waiting for. Instead, most users with Honor and Huawei devices are waiting for Android 9 Pie-based EMUI 9 update. This comes right after Honor launched the December Android security patch for Honor 7X users.
