Huawei Mate 20 Pro scratch and bend test reveals it is not the most durable smartphone

Last month, Huawei launched the Mate 20-series smartphones in London, and the company is also all set to launch the Mate 20 Pro and Porsche Design Mate 20 RS in India this week. Both smartphones come with triple rear cameras, and based on what the western publications have been writing about the device, the cameras are impressive.

Now, as usual, YouTuber JerryRigEverything has put the Mate 20 Pro through scratch, bend and flame test, and the result may not be appealing enough, especially if you are considering to purchase one. The YouTuber first puts the front and rear glass panel through the scratch test, and it survives. Even the camera lens covering is resistant to scratches.

Next, he tries to scrape the sides of the phone, and the color coating easily comes out. And this happens with the SIM tray, volume and power buttons too. Next, he puts the screen through the flame test, and the screen slightly seems to have been affected. And then comes the major bend test. As you can see in the above video, both the front glass panel is very fragile, and after applying even little force, it has shattered quite a bit.

The Mate 20 Pro is all set to launch in India on November 27 and the smartphone will be sold exclusively via Amazon India. Besides the triple rear cameras, the Kirin 980 AI chipset, and reverse wireless charging are some key features. Also, the Mate 20 Pro comes with a 40W charger in the box, which can quickly top-up the phone’s battery in less than an hour-and-a-half. There is now word on the pricing, but considering the European pricing, it remains to be seen if Huawei can go all aggressive.
