MIUI 10 Global Beta 8.11.8: Xiaomi brings Google Pixel 3 Nightsight-like ‘Night mode’ to Mi MIX 2S and more

The ‘Nightsight’ mode that Google revealed at the launch of its latest flagship smartphone lineup, the Google Pixel 3 and the Pixel 3 XL showcased what software can do to improve low-light photography. Ever since the launch, a number of developers are working on porting the feature to other non-pixel devices with success in some cases. However, this has also pushed smartphone makers such as OnePlus to launch their own take on the mode with its ‘Night’ mode in its recently released flagship device, the OnePlus 6T. The company also rolled out the mode to OnePlus 6 in a software update and it looks like one more smartphone maker is working on its own ‘Night mode’.

According to reports, it looks like Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi is also testing its own ‘Night mode’ to improve the quality of images taken in low light conditions. The company rolled out the new mode to some devices with its latest MIUI 10 Global Beta ROM version 8.11.8. This new version brings a number of bug fixes along with Night mode.

Some of the bugs that were fixed in this version include hidden app feature not working on Poco F1 devices, Security app not visible in the Settings app, digital message about pending updates showing in system app updater but there are no updates pending and notification shade showing a blank.

The company seems to be working hard of providing updates to the devices with rapid Beta updates for top-end devices. This information comes right after it was revealed that Xiaomi is rolling out the stable version of its MIUI 10 to 20 more devices.
