OnePlus 6T McLaren Special Edition could come with 10GB of RAM

OnePlus recently announced that it is partnering with supercar maker and Formula One team McLaren. While details on this partnership are scarce for now, indications are that we’ll see a OnePlus 6T McLaren Special Edition device launched on December 11 in Woking, England, the hometown of McLaren. The launch will be followed by a larger India launch in Mumbai on December 12.

And just as previous special edition devices from OnePlus have pushed the boundaries on specifications, the OnePlus 6T McLaren special edition is also expected to come with a bump in this department. According to MySmartPrice, the OnePlus 6T special edition could have 10GB of RAM under the hood, which will the company’s first device with this much RAM. The OnePlus 5, 5T, 6 and 6T all come with up to 8GB of RAM currently.

Furthermore, the special edition will also sport 256GB of internal storage, which is currently offered on the top-end variant of the regular OnePlus 6T. Other specifications are expected to be similar to the regular variant of the phone, with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SoC, Android 9 Pie and a 3,700mAh battery. However, the phone will likely sport a unique exterior design, which will come with McLaren branding and possibly a special texture as well.

The OnePlus 6T McLaren Special Edition will follow in tradition that has been established by the Chinese smartphone maker, where a special edition of its smartphone is introduced shortly after the regular launch. Last year, OnePlus launched the Star Wars edition of the OnePlus 5T, followed by the Marvel Avengers edition of the OnePlus 6 earlier this year.
