In just a few months of its short existence, Realme has made its presence felt in the Indian smartphone market. Having launched a total of four smartphones so far, the former Oppo subsidiary is all geared up for the fifth. Its first selfie-centric smartphone – Realme U1 – is scheduled to be launched on November 28, and Realme is leaving no stones unturned to generate the maximum hype for the smartphone.
To that end, the company recently shared a selfie sample via its official Twitter handle. The image highlights Realme U1’s front-facing camera’s capability to ‘illuminate’ the subject’s face well, despite the background being quite bright.

Considering that Realme has been touting the U1 as a selfie-centric smartphone, it only makes sense to highlight the smartphone’s selfie-camera performance. However, that’s not all!

In another tweet (see above), the company showed off the AnTuTu score of Realme U1’s MediaTek Helio P70 SoC, comparing it with AnTuTu scores of Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 and HiSilicon Kirin 710, the two chipsets that power Xiaomi Redmi Note 6 Pro and Honor 8X, respectively, two of the U1’s primary rivals. The scores are shown off in the form of a comparative bar chart, most likely created on the basis of this recent report.
It’s worth noting that Realme U1 is the first smartphone to be powered by MediaTek’s Helio P70 chipset. The SoC was announced at IMC 2018 last month.

All said, the U1 is shaping up to be an exciting smartphone, and it’ll most likely be quite affordable, just as the rest of Realme’s smartphones have been so far.
