The JioPhone 2, a second-generation smartphone feature phone from Reliance Jio is all set to go on flash sale today. The sale is set to kick off at 12:00PM, and you will be able to purchase it from Jio’s website. Priced at Rs 2,999, you can also avail Paytm cashback of Rs 300, which will bring the effective price down to Rs 2,699.
The Reliance JioPhone 2 was unveiled at the annual general meeting earlier this year, and it is an upgraded version of the JioPhone. The new feature phone sports a bigger display and features full QWERTY keyboard to facilitate faster typing experience. On the back of strong demand for JioPhone, the company has also grown to become a leading player in the feature phone market, having a market share of 30 percent. At the AGM, the company also mentioned that has 25 million JioPhone users. Surely, the number may have gone up after the JioPhone 2 went on sale.

Reliance JioPhone 2 Specifications and Price
The smart feature phone comes with a 2.4-inch QVGA display, and a full QWERTY keyboard. In terms of internals, it matches the original variant with 512MB RAM, 4GB internal storage and supports expandable storage up to 128GB via microSD card slot. It also features a 2-megapixel rear camera and a 0.3-megapixel camera at the front for selfies and video calling.
The JioPhone 2 runs KaiOS, an operating system that is designed to bring smartphone like applications to the feature phone. Both, the JioPhone and JioPhone 2 support apps like Facebook, WhatsApp, YouTube, Google Maps and Google Assistant. The ability to use WhatsApp and watch YouTube has become a big driver for the sales of this smart feature phone.
The JioPhone 2 supports 4G VoLTE, it packs a 2,000mAh battery, and supports connectivity options like WiFi, Voice over Wi-Fi, GPS and Bluetooth.
