Samsung Galaxy A9 (2018) goes on sale in India: Price, Availability and Specifications

The latest Samsung Galaxy A9 (2018) with world’s first quad-camera setup will be up for sale in India across online and offline retail channels. The South Korean company had launched the Galaxy A9 in October in Malaysia first and introduced in India last week. The handset was up for pre-orders on Flipkart, Amazon India, Paytm Mall and Samsung’s eShop since launch, but it will now be readily available for everyone in open sale.

The Galaxy A9 (2018) will be offered in Lemonade Blue, Caviar Black and Bubblegum Pink color options by Samsung in India. The 6GB RAM and 128GB storage variant is priced at Rs 36,990, whereas the 8GB RAM with 128GB storage costs Rs 39,990.

The Samsung Galaxy A9 boasts of a quad-camera setup at the back, which is first of its kind for a smartphone. This setup includes a 24-megapixel camera with f/1.7 aperture, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide sensor, 10-megapixel telephoto lens offering 2x optical zoom, and a 5-megapixel depth sensor of f/2.2 aperture.

Besides the quad-camera setup, the smartphone also comes with a 6.3-inch AMOLED display with 2220×1080 pixels resolution, and 18.5:9 aspect ratio. Under the hood is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 SoC with up to 8GB of RAM. There is 128GB storage on board, which can be expanded up to 512GB using a microSD card.

For security, there is a fingerprint sensor placed at the back, as well as support for Face Unlock. Making sure everything ticks is a 3,800mAh battery. Connectivity options include USB Type-C port, and 3.5mm audio jack. On the software front, the device runs Android 8.0 Oreo out-of-the-box with Samsung Experience UI on top. There is also built-in support for Samsung Pay.
