Soon after Google made the Android 9 Pie update official, smartphone makers have been updating their software upgrade rollout plans. Essential, OnePlus and Nokia have started rolling out the Android upgrade, whereas Xiaomi is beta testing the update, but as usual, Samsung hasn’t spoken anything about the software update plans, not even for its flagship smartphones.
However, we know that Samsung is already beta testing the Android 9 Pie update, and there have been a number of leaked screenshots and videos that have appeared so far. Now, according to PhoneArena, Samsung has confirmed that the public beta update will be released later this week. The confirmation comes via Samsung Developer Conference 2018 app, with the conference taking place on November 7 and 8 in San Francisco.

Shortly after the unveiling, the Android 9 Pie Beta with Samsung Experience UI 10 will be available for the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+. However, access to the beta update will be given only to users residing in the US, UK and South Korea. Based on the leaked videos and screenshots that we have come across so far, the update will bring a lot of UI changes, right from the updated lock screen with modified fonts, on-screen navigation buttons and revamped app icons. There will also be a new Dark Mode, raise to wake feature and more.
At the developer conference, Samsung will also be detailing the Bixby speaker that it teased at New York alongside the launch of the Galaxy Note 9. Samsung has also revealed that it will be showing off the Galaxy F, a foldable display smartphone with 7.3-inch screen and up to 512GB internal storage. It is expected to go on sale in early 2019.
