The end of the road for Google Nexus 5X, Nexus 6P; receives what could be last update

The Google Nexus lineup is heading towards its end of life. With the release of November security patch, Google Nexus 5X and Nexus 6P might no longer get updates from the company.

Launched in 2015, the Google Nexus 5X and Google Nexus 6P were promised support and updates for three years. Now according to the Google support webpage, Nexus 5X and 6P will not get guaranteed security updates after November 2018. So unless there is a major security breach or flaw, do not expected Google to roll out update for your Nexus smartphones.

Google has long discontinued Nexus series with successor ‘Made by Google’ Pixel smartphones. This year’s Google flagship Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL have already been on sale in India. Both phones were launched earlier in October and can be purchased online through Flipkart as well as offline through major retailers across India at starting price of Rs 71,000.

The Google Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL sport largely the same specifications, although the larger device flaunts bigger notched display. The big highlight of the two Pixel phones is its 12-megapixel single-lens rear camera setup. The Google Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL are widely regarded as the best camera smartphones in the market today.
