Having an extremely diverse product portfolio, Xiaomi makes everything from smartphones and fitness bands to suitcases and umbrellas. While that’s indeed great, it seems the company now wants to cater to the kids’ market as well.
To that end, Xiaomi has launched a new hair clipper for children. Called Xiaomi Kiddies Hair Clipper, the product is priced at RMB 199, or about $28.
According to a report by Gizchina, the hair clipper is ideal the soft and tender hairs of children. It comes with a ceramic safety cutter head and features a powerful motor. Having a large grip area, the hair clipper is quite easy to handle. It’s also quiet (55dB), and comes with a mute functionality. The product can automatically collect clipped hair, a feature which not only makes for mess-free hair clipping, but apparently also puts the kids at ease, since they don’t get anxious on seeing their clipped hair.
Xiaomi Kiddies Hair Clipper comes with 3mm/6mm and 6mm/12mm fixed length comb attachments, which help in a uniform haircut.

Being an IPX7-certified product, the hair clipper can be easily rinsed with water and dried after use. Even though the original price is RMB 199 ($28), during the ongoing 11.11 sale, Chinese online retailer Tmall will be selling the product at a reduced price of RMB 169 (about $25).
As of now, there’s no word whether or not the hair clipper will be launched outside of China.
