Although Xiaomi launched the Redmi 4 and Redmi 4A last year, it has not forgotten about these devices. Both devices have received updates, and will continue to improve over time. Now, Xiaomi has begun the deployment of MIUI 10 stable update for Redmi 4 and Redmi 4A users in India.
The new OTA update for Redmi 4 comes as MIUI 10.1.1.0.NAMMFI, and is 316MB in size. The Redmi 4A, on the other hand, is being updated to MIUI 10.1.1.0.NCCMIFI that is about 268MB in size. Both are based on Android 7.1.2 OS. While the Redmi 4A runs security patch of July 2018, the Redmi 4 has the one that corresponds to the month of October.

As it is a Global OTA update, it is likely to take a bit of time before reaching everyone. To check if the update has arrived on your smartphone, you can head over to Settings -> About phone -> System Updates -> Check for updates. In case you haven’t received notification for the update yet, you can manually flash MIUI 10 on your Xiaomi Redmi 4 and Redmi 4A now. To do that, here are the steps:
1) Download the MIUI 10 Global Stable ROM from MIUI website (https://ift.tt/zd2WMq)
2) Move the download file to your smartphone’s internal storage
3) Next, head over to Settings -> About phone -> System Updates, and tap on the three-dots menu at the upper-right corner.
4) Tap Update Package, and select the downloaded file
5) Once the file parsing process is complete, Tap on the “Reboot and update” option.
MIUI 10 Global ROM brings the gestures navigating system to the smartphones. Other features include redesigned volume controls, improved multitasking, a more natural system sound, redesigned notifications panel, and more.
The menus have been redistributed in a much more intuitive way, the quick panel adjustments now look much similar to Android P, and even the color palette is the same, with a white and blue background shade. The volume buttons, the transparent notification panel and especially the multitasking have all been redesigned. Xiaomi does what it can to keep its devices updated with the latest software. If you have one of these two devices, there are a lot of new things to try.
