Oppo is bringing back its R series of smartphones to India today. After a handful of teasers over the past few days, Oppo has made it clear that it will be launching the premium R17 Pro in India on December 4. The company is hosting a launch event in Mumbai today, and we will bring live updates from the event that kicks off at 8:00PM IST.
Oppo’s smartphone was first launched in China in August alongside the lower variant called Oppo R17. The smartphone is essentially second premium device from Oppo in 2018 after the Oppo Find X.
In China, the handset is priced at RMB 4,299, which is roughly Rs 43,000. Over the past few years, Oppo hasn’t released the R-series smartphones in India, so it’ll be a comeback for Oppo R series phones after the Oppo R5.

The Oppo R17 Pro boats a triple-rear camera setup, and a new fog gradient color scheme that uses 3D fog glass along with a new condensing grading process. The variant launched in China packed with Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 SoC with 8GB RAM, and we expect Oppo to bring the same device in India without any changes.
