The competition between telecom operators in the Indian markets continues to heat up as companies offer new plans to match or beat the offers provided by its competition. As part of this competition, Vodafone Idea has just offered a new discount that allows its users to get up to Rs 2,400 in terms of discounts on all the plans. The thing to note here is that this offer is only available for postpaid users, and it does not extend to prepaid users. Another catch here is that the postpaid plans that the company is referring span 12 months or one year.
This plan is not really new as Vodafone used to offer it before the merger with Idea, TelecomTalk reports. Now considering that the Idea postpaid users have merged with Vodafone postpaid users, the total number of postpaid users has increased significantly. Giving the same offer to this larger pool of users will likely increase the number of subscribers that are making use of the benefit. According to the details, Vodafone Idea has teamed up with CitiBank to offer a 50 percent discount on all rental offers to users who are applying for a new credit card from the bank.

As part of the plan, Vodafone Idea is offering a discount of up to Rs 200 per month, which amounts to Rs 2,400 in one year. According to the details, this discount is available on Vodafone RED, and the Nirvana postpaid plans from Idea. The RED plans start from Rs 299, while the Nirvana plans start at Rs 399.
Another catch as part of this plan is that the users who have applied for the new Citi credit card will need to spend Rs 4,000 in 60 days of getting the card issued. Though to make things easier, both the companies are allowing users to easily apply for their Citi credit card directly from their My Vodafone and My Idea app.
