Huawei sub-brand Honor had a launch event recently in China to announce the Honor 30S and Honor 9A smartphones. The Honor 9A came as an entry-level device. Meanwhile, the 30S featured upper mid-range specifications, like the Kirin 820 5G chipset. Now the company has posted on Chinese social media site Weibo to confirm that its next event will be held on April 15. Further, the next series of smartphones to be launched is the Honor 30 flagship series.
Comprising the Honor 30 and the 30 Pro, the series is expected to feature flagship-grade specifications. The post features well-known Chinese actor Li Xian. Xian can be seen holding an Honor 30 series phone without revealing much. However, one hint that the post does provide us is that the phones will likely feature a center-aligned vertical setup for its multiple cameras instead of a round setup.

Honor 30 series: What we know so far
We don’t have a lot of rumors and leaks on the series. However, there was a recent leak where a phone was spotted in a Chinese subway. The phone was likely the Honor 30 Pro. The images showed that the phone featured a pill-shaped cut-out on the front of a large screen. The phone also featured curved edges of the screen on the left and right. Thanks to a thick casing, however, we couldn’t figure out much otherwise.
Further, unconfirmed rumors on the Honor 30 suggest the phone will feature three-rear cameras. The first is a 50-megapixel Sony IMX7XX lens, coupled with a 12-megapixel ultra-wide lens. There is also an 8-megapixel telephoto lens with a 3X optical zoom.
OnePlus 8 series to launch on April 14
Meanwhile, OnePlus also confirmed yesterday that it will be holding its launch event on April 14. The event will see the brand launch the OnePlus 8 flagship series, comprising the OnePlus 8 and 8 Pro. A dedicated Chinese launch event will be held for the series again on April 16.
