DC movie ‘Joker’ starring Joaquin Phoenix is now streaming on Amazon Prime Video. Directed and written by Todd Philips, Joker was released on October 2, 2019 in India. The film was a huge success and turned out a box office hit with the gross collection of over a billion dollars. It became the first R-rated movie in the US to gross 1 billion mark worldwide. Not just that, it was the most nominated movie at the 2020 Oscars. It earned 11 nominations, including Best Picture and Best Director.
Joker is an American psychological thriller film based on DC Comics characters. It provides a possible origin story for the character. In Gotham City, mentally troubled comedian Arthur Fleck (played by Joaquin Phoenix) is disregarded and mistreated by society. He then embarks on a downward spiral of revolution and bloody crime. This path brings him face-to-face with his alter-ego.
Joker will be available on the Prime Video app starting Monday, April 20. The movie was released in only English-language audio, so it is unlikely that we will see a dub for the movie. However, Amazon has created dubs from scratch for movies before, like with another Oscar-winning movie Parasite. We could see the app do the same with Joker.
