Last week, Apple launched refreshed versions of its MacBook Air and Mac mini. In addition, the Cupertino-based technology major also introduced the revamped iPad Pro in two sizes – 11-inch and 12.9-inch.
Apart from the different-sized screens, both variants of Apple iPad Pro (2018) are essentially identical. Aimed at professionals and content creators, the iPad Pro (2018) is powered by the A12X Bionic SoC, a spruced-up of the A12 Bionic that powers iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max, and iPhone XR.
There’s no denying the fact that A12X Bionic is plenty powerful. Recently, a report said that the iPad Pro received Geekbench scores comparable to those of Apple’s 15-inch MacBook Pro, which comes with Intel Core’s-i7 hexa-core CPUs. Now, another set of scores has all but confirmed the prowess of the new iPad Pro (2018).
According to GSMArena, the A12X Bionic in 11-inch variant of Apple iPad Pro (2018) received a combined score of 557,679 on AnTuTu, which is over 50 percent more than what the A12 Bionic in the 2018 iPhones could manage on the same benchmarking platform.

The scores have four components – CPU, UX, Memory, and GPU. The maximum increase registered by A12X Bionic (over A12 Bionic) was in the GPU department. While the SoC powering iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max, and iPhone XR managed a score of 153,514, the chipset powering the new iPad Pro (2018) received 315,108, which is almost double. The boost in GPU score is likely the result of the optimizations done by Apple for the new iPad Pro.
