State-run telco, BSNL, introduced some festive offers for its prepaid customers during Dussehra and Diwali, but beyond that it did not do anything exciting. Now, the company has revised the benefits that the entry-level STV Rs 29 prepaid plan offers.
After the revision, users now get unlimited local and national calling across India without any FUP. However, for calls made to numbers in Mumbai and Delhi circles, standard calling rates will be applied, TelecomTalk reports. The prepaid plan offers a validity of 7 days, 300 local and national SMS, and 1GB 2G / 3G data. Users also get free PRBT (caller ring tones) with unlimited song changes.
Earlier, the plan used to offer unlimited calling in home circle and roaming, 100 SMS daily, and 2GB daily data, meaning a total of 14GB data. Yes, the SMS and data benefits have reduced compared to the previous offering, but the telco has added PRBT, and unlimited calling without any FUP.
The plan closely competes with Rs 52 recharge offered by Reliance Jio. The plan offers 70 free SMS, and 1.05GB data, with a daily cap of 150MB. Yet, it is unlimited plan, which means after the daily limit is hit, the speed will be throttled down to 64Kbps. The plan also comes with unlimited calling without any FUP, and complimentary access to Jio app suite which includes JioCinema, JioMusic, and JioTV. The validity of this plan is 7 days.
