Google Gboard will use AI to suggest you GIFs, emojis, and stickers

Google Gboard will now recommend you GIFs, emojis, and stickers relevant to your conversations. So, now, you won’t have to spend time searching for the appropriate ones. Tap on the GIF icon to see the suggested ones and use them immediately. Google is going to use AI for presenting you to the best GIFs, emojis, and stickers relevant to your conversations.

The relevance and the suggestions processing take place on the phone for maintaining the privacy and delivering options as quickly as possible. That means it won’t use up a lot of battery life and eliminate additional effort of searching for specific elements.

In case you are wondering if Gboard will read your mind, it won’t. Instead, it will pick up the keywords from your existing conversation and collate the relevant GIFs, emojis, and stickers. So those suggestions will be based entirely on your discussion. Be it about an upcoming birthday or banter with a friend — you can pick up relevant elements quickly.

Apple uses similar suggestions for the iOS users and provides them relevant emojis above the keyboard. When one types happy anniversary or birthday, the emojis of a bouquet or a cake shows up.

Google claims that the AI-driven suggestions are available for the Gboard users on Android and iOS platforms. For now, the feature is available in English globally, and Google plans to add support for more languages and more types of content.
