Reliance Jio offering additional 8GB of free data to all prepaid customers, comes with four-day validity

Ever since Reliance Jio launched in the country, it has completely transformed the landscape of the Indian telecom sector. The tariff war that started as a result of Jio’s lucrative data-voice offerings is getting fiercer by the day, with telcos continuously trying to one up each other by offering increasingly exciting mobile plans.

Back in September, Reliance Jio completed two years of operation in India. To commemorate the same, the Mukesh Ambani-led telco had introduced ‘Jio Celebrations Offer’. As part of the promotion, Jio offered 8GB of additional free monthly data to all its subscribers, for the months of September and October. However, it seems that the telco has decided to extend that promotion to the current month as well.

According to a recent report by Telecom Talk, Jio has started crediting 8GB of free data to all its existing prepaid subscribers. We were able to confirm this on our end as well (see screenshot below).

As was the case previously, the 8GB of additional data offered by Jio comes with a validity of four days. This essentially means that you get 2GB data per day. The benefit comes in the form of vouchers that are automatically credited to your account, and can be checked under the ‘My Plans’ section of MyJio app.

Given the large number of Jio subscribers out there, it may take a while for the additional data to be reflected under the account of everyone. However, since the ‘Jio Celebrations Offer‘ is available for all of Jio’s prepaid subscribers, everyone will eventually get it in the month of November itself.
