Back in September, Sony unveiled its Xperia XZ3 flagship smartphone at the IFA technology conference in Berlin. The top-of-the-line mobile device is yet to reach most regions around the world, but it seems that the Japanese technology major is already hard at work developing its upcoming successor.
Recently, noted tipster OnLeaks tweeted a render of Sony Xperia XZ4, giving us an early look at the upcoming smartphone. Building on that, MySmartPrice has now come up with more high-resolution renders and even a 360-degree video, which highlight the key features of the Xperia XZ4.
If these renders and the video (embedded below) are indeed legit, Sony’s upcoming flagship will have a 6.5-inch display. As per OnLeaks, the massive screen of the XZ4 could have a rather unusual (at least, for a smartphone) 21:9 aspect ratio to make one-handed use a bit easier.
Moving to the back, the renders reveal the Xperia XZ4 as having a tri-lens rear camera system. If true, this will make the upcoming flagship Sony’s first to have three lenses at the back. However, there’s no information available (yet) about the specifics of the camera setup. Up front, the XZ4 is expected to have a single lens for selfies and video calls.
Other physical aspects of the smartphone highlighted in the 360-degree video include a side-mounted fingerprint sensor (similar to what the Xperia XZ had), as well as the absence of a 3.5mm audio port.
While there’s no word as to when Sony Xperia XZ4 would be launched, the top-tier smartphone could be showcased at next year’s Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona, Spain.
