Asus Zenfone Max Pro M2 coming to India on December 11, Zenfone Max M2 leaked too

Asus has been steadily expanding its mobile portfolio in India. After unveiling the entry-level Zenfone Lite L1 and Zenfone Max M1 back in October, the Taiwanese technology company is set to launch a new smartphone in the country next month.

Asus’ India arm recently posted a short teaser video via its official Twitter handle, confirming that the Zenfone Max Pro M2 will be arriving in India on December 11 as a Flipkart-exclusive. The sequel to Zenfone Max Pro M1 (which launched earlier this year), Asus is calling the Gorilla Glass 6-toting Max Pro M2 as the “most durable smartphone in the segment”.

The aforementioned teaser clearly shows that Asus’ upcoming smartphone will have a notched display, and what seems to be a tri-lens camera system at the back. However, leaked renders recently posted by WinFuture confirmed that there are just two lenses at the back, and the third ‘element’ is just the LED flash module.

Not just that, if the WinFuture report is to be believed, Asus Zenfone Max Pro M2 will pack a Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 SoC, paired with 4GB of RAM and 64GB/128GB of storage, expandable via microSD cards. The dual-lens camera system at the back is expected to have a 12-megapixel unit and a 5-megapixel unit. Having a 6-inch notched display with a resolution of 1080×2340 pixels, the Max Pro M2 has also been confirmed to pack a 5,000mAh battery.

While that’s interesting, Zenfone Max Pro M2 may not be the only smartphone Asus has in store for us. The report by WinFuture extensively details another smartphone, calling it Zenfone Max M2. The leaked renders of the smartphone show it having a metallic rear panel and dual-lens camera system almost identical to the existing Zenfone Max Pro M1. The front, on the other hand, is all about a notched display with reduced bezels.

There’s no information about the hardware specifications of the alleged Zenfone Max M2. However, like the Zenfone Max Pro M2, it’s also quite likely to have stock Android out of the box. Whether the Zenfone Max M2 launches alongside the Zenfone Max Pro M2 on December 11, we’ll find out soon.
