Vivo Y7i price slashed to Rs 7,990, Vivo Y81 now starts at Rs 10,990

When it comes to budget and mid-range smartphone segments in the Indian mobile market, Vivo’s devices are among the better ones out there. The Chinese technology company’s portfolio includes a whole bunch of smartphones, especially in the budget Y-series. Now, the company has slashed the prices of two of its Y-series smartphones, making them even more affordable. This was announced via a tweet by Mahesh Telecom, a Mumbai-based smartphone retailer.

Starting off with Vivo Y71i, the smartphone now costs Rs 7,990, post a price reduction of Rs 1,000. The Y1i is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 SoC, paired with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage. It has a 6-inch HD+ display with a resolution of 720×1440 pixels and an 18:9 aspect ratio. There’s Android 8.1 Oreo on-board, skinned with Vivo’s Funtouch OS overlay.

For imaging, Vivo Y71i has a single-lens 8-megapixel rear camera, as well as a 5-megapixel lens up front for selfies and video calls. All standard connectivity options are included, with a 3360mAh battery rounding off the spec sheet.

Next up is the Vivo Y81. Based on RAM, it comes in two variants, and both have seen a price cut of Rs 1,00 each. While the 3GB RAM model now costs Rs 10,990, the 4GB RAM version will set you back by Rs 12,490. The Y81 is powered by MediaTek’s Helio P22 chipset and comes with 32GB of on-board storage. Up front, there’s a 6.22-inch HD+ notched display with a resolution of 720×1520 pixels and a 19:9 aspect ratio. The operating system is Android 8.1 Oreo, with Vivo’s Funtouch OS baked on top.

Talking about cameras, the Y81 comes with a single-lens 13-megapixel camera at the back. There’s also a 5-megapixel lens on the front for selfies and video calls. There’s all standard connectivity options included in the mix, and a 3,260mAh battery backs up the whole package.
