Apple's FaceTime bug lets people listen in on you – even if you don't pick up

Serious glitch, which can also turn on video without people’s knowledge, comes amid increasing concerns over privacy

A serious bug in Apple’s FaceTime application allows users to listen in on the people they are calling when they do not pick up the call. Under certain circumstances, the glitch also allows callers to see video of the person they are calling before they pick up.

The Guardian confirmed the existence of the bug, which was first reported by 9to5Mac.

I just tested the FaceTime bug with @juliacarriew. It’s real. You can call someone on FaceTime and listen to their phone’s mic if they don’t pick up.
