Motorola Android 11 update list released, includes most 2019 midrange models

Android 11 is coming out for more midrange phones from various manufacturers as you read. After Xiaomi, Realme, Oppo and a few others started the update process, Motorola has released its list of devices eligible for the Android 11 update. Good news! It includes most of Motorola’s 2020 and 2019 smartphones throughout the list. Yes, the list includes some of its budget smartphones that were part of the Android One program.

Motorola has listed all the devices that will receive the Android 11 update in its global markets. The list includes a lot of Motorola devices that also made it to the Indian shores, ranging from entry-level devices to the premium foldable category. Sadly, Motorola hasn’t revealed how long it will take to release these updates for the said devices. Hence, you may have to wait until mid-2021 to get the update on some of these phones.

Android 11 for Motorola devices

Below is the list of all the Motorola devices that are eligible for the Android 11 update. Do note that all these devices run on the almost-stock version of Android with few Motorola apps baked in.

Motorola Razr 5G, Motorola Razr 2019, Motorola Edge, Motorola Edge+, Motorola One 5G, Motorola One Action, Motorola One Fusion, Motorola One Fusion+, Motorola One Hyper, Motorola One Vision, Moto G 5G, Moto G 5G Plus, Moto G Fast, Moto G Power, Moto G Pro, Moto G Stylus, Moto G9, Moto G9 Play, Moto G9 Plus, Moto G9 Power, Moto G8, Moto G8 Power, and Lenovo K12 Note.

Motorola Razr 5G

Surprisingly, some of the midrange devices from last year haven’t made it to the list. The Moto G8 Plus that launched last year isn’t present in this list. This means the device was only scheduled to get a single Android OS upgrade. Similarly, the Moto G8 Power Lite that launched in India earlier this summer also won’t make it to the update list. The Moto One Macro is also absent from this list, which is surprising as it was part of the Android One series from last year.

Nonetheless, it remains to be seen how soon Motorola starts releasing the update for these handsets in India. Premium devices such as the Razr 5G, Razr and Edge+ could get the update first, followed by the update Moto G series from this year as well as the One series phones. The 2019 models could take more time to get the update, given that these are already old.
